I was never interested in stories like that and I’ve seen my fair share of dragons. I’m talking of course, about the monsters of life. Every prince or princess has at least one and every living soul is a prince or princess in the story of their own life, aren’t they?
I was never content to be a proper princess and wait for the prince or knight to come along and save me. I wanted to be like the princess Cimorene from the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. Rather than be one of many victims, I wanted to be a survivor or even a rescuer.
Then again, sometimes the dragons of our lives turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to us. Terrifying as they are, when we face them, they turn out to be the making of us, rather than the breaking. The difficulty is figuring out which are which.
That’s the purpose of life and that of this blog. Here, as I explore my world, I try to find my dragons and learn if they’re enemies or friends.
I invite you to share my journey. Feel free to add your own voice to mine, and to share with me the similarities and differences between my journey and your own, because, in the end, each life is a story that needs telling and each prince or princess must figure out which dragons can be defeated and which must be embraced.
