In the News, Steve-sama, Princess’ friend, received his first high-five from her. He was in serious, though not debilitating, pain, due to the hardness of Princess’ hand. Not surprisingly,
after my daughter hit his hand, his hand went numb. Princess reports, “We both laughed so hard.” She was so pleased with the event, she drew a picture of it. We hope to see said picture here on the Dragon’s Lair in the future. Princess reports further, “Ander-chan also felt some pain when she tried it out.” It is our fervent hope that none of Princess’ friends’ parents will be suing the family for damage to their children’s hands.
In other news, jaklumen experienced the test procedure for the stimulation implant device this week. The first day, as anticipated, was difficult, since he came home sore. The doctor had not allowed him any pain relief. Needless to say, neither of us slept well. However, following that crucial day, jak’s temper seems to have cooled, by which, this reporter believes she can confidently report that the test was a success. During the following days, jak has consistently been up early and has experienced little to no pain, which means no creative, colorful language and no fighting between himself and yours truly. Needless to say, we all wished the device could be left in over the weekend, but the doctor decided to remove it yesterday for reasons known only to him. All of us at the Dragon’s Lair are left to hope that the effects will last through Sunday.
In Sports this week, Princess tells us “They are as hard as ever and I’m really afraid of getting hit in the face with a baseball. That could cause some serious damage.” Readers should be aware that, at the tender age of 5, Princess was hit in the face with a baseball bat by accident. She came home sporting a nasty black eye and… yes, you guessed it, giggling. Princess reports that she also was once hit in the face with a kick ball, which incident caused a bloody nose. In any event, it is this reporter’s considered opinion that these may be the sources of Princess’ fear of being hit in the face with a baseball.
In Weather this week, Princess explained to this reporter, “I DON’T LIKE THE SUN!” This reporter is not exactly sure why this is. Princess reports that the light from the sun heats up her hair. This reporter intends to look into obtaining a hat, although this operation may prove futile since Princess and hat don’t generally go together. Princess’ stated preference is for a sturdy umbrella or parasol.
That’s all for now. From the Dragon’s Lair, I’m Cimmorene. Be back next Saturday when, hopefully, I’ll be able to get online again and give you yet another dose of reality. See you then.
This post has been brought to you today by Growing Up Mom, written and produced by the amazing momwithoutinstruction. Her latest post, published about this time last month, had to do with things she’s learned since the death of her father. I found it poignant and thought provoking. However, don’t take my word for it. Visit and check it out for yourself. Maybe leave her an interested comment, so she knows how much we love her work.
