It’s time, once again, for an update on the family living here at Dragon’s Lair.  Here it is, by age.

Boy:  Most recently, Boy was finally diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) along with his currently existing Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), so it looks like he’s got a whole lot of alphabet soup to deal with, poor guy.  Thankfully, however, his doctor has prescribed some medication which, thus far, his teacher is pleased with the effects of.  We’ve been doing our best to let him know that the changes this medication has made in him are pleasant ones for us.  Now, if only the meds would continue to work until after dinnertime.

Princess:  Princess reports that she is in a considerable amount of back pain that we have yet to figure out the source of.  Her doctor has recommended that she do regular back stretching exercises coupled with one or two tablets of ibuprofen.  She tells me she is doing passably in school, although her Social Studies/Ancient History teacher, Mrs. H, has assigned seats in her class.  Princess’ speculates that the reason for this is the large amount of chit chat during class time, though she doesn’t recall chit chatting during class herself.

jaklumen:  Poor jak!  The cold and lack of humidity has been hitting him pretty hard.  So hard, in fact, that if he doesn’t get his meds and it’s particularly cold, he starts to shake REALLY BADLY.  I’m not talking mild shaking here.  I’m talking full-on flailing in some cases, not to mention serious cramping in his legs and back.  He is currently seeing a pain specialist and is considering having a special gadget implanted, similar to a pace maker, called a spinal cord stimulation device.  The difference between the two is that a pace maker is implanted near the heart to regulate its rhythm, the spinal cord stimulation device is implanted into the spinal cord to regulate the pain response.  Needless to say, we both have mixed emotions where it’s concerned.  Part impatience and part worry that it either won’t work or that it will mess jak up.

Cimmorene:  I am doing my best to stay on top of everything.  We put our Christmas decorations up on Monday and I replaced some lights today on the house.  I had to trim back a rose bush growing near our house in order to accomplish this and I think I would be able to do a better job if I had a ladder instead of a kitchen step stool to work with.  Dishes and Laundry still need lots of catching up.  Also Jak’s and my 15th wedding anniversary is tomorrow.  We have decided to have a professional photograph taken, but we have yet to find someone within our budget.

I’ll put up a post celebrating our anniversary if you want one.  However, what we’d like best is if some of you that read jak’s blog could leave some interested comments.  The main reason for this request is that jak is feeling particularly frustrated what with no comments on his blog and the pain and everything.  We love you all and hope you will grant us this request as an anniversary present.  Thanks and be here next week for another update on how our family is doing.
